BABY ROBIN's SHORT LIFE

A baby robin fell from the nest, he was on the ground screeching and the mother robin was in the tree calling back. The baby hopped into the street. I was torn between letting nature handle itself or intervening. I decided to put the baby back in the nest. The mother was nervously flying back on forth calling. Soon after the baby was back in the nest several robins were flying about. The mother was fighting with another robin until the sun went down, not long after the bird was put back in the nest. In the morning the baby robin lay lifeless on the ground. I wonder....
